A movie I watched this week that I really enjoyed was "Dear John" written by Nicholas Sparks and the main character's are Amanda Seyfield and Channing Tatum (and I do have the hots for Channing Tatum now) its a heartwarming romance!!!
Basically they meet, fall in love, he goes to war they keep in touch by writing to each other, meanwhile life is spinning its circumstances at them testing their love. Girls watch it, boys you will relate to Channing's character, if not just watch how when he first kisses her he picks her up and they fall to the ground in the rain! Romance- Yep and us girls love that!!!
Two books I'm reading on the go at the moment are "The Shift" by Dr Wayne Dyer and " The road of lost Innocence" by Somaly Mam.
Wayne Dyer is without a shadow of a doubt one of my favourite authors, I have seen him speak on a few occasions and he even once told me I had a lovely smile.
I have followed his books for about 15 years and he would be one of the first authors that I related to when moving to a new way of thinking which in turn has changed my perceptions.
When I was working in London at Mind Body Spirit Direct (great shop) we stocked all his books and I had the chance to soak them all up. He did a movie recently called Ambition to Meaning, fantastic, Inspiring I remember going into work the next day and being able to sale lots of those DVDs my colleague and I were buzzing from what we had watched the night before. He always hits the right notes with me as he does thousands of others.
The Shift illustrates how and why to make the move from ambition to meaning. Such a shift eliminates our feelings of separateness, illuminates our spiritual connectedness, and involves moving from the ego-directed morning into the afternoon of life where everything is primarily influenced by purpose.
As we contemplate leaving the morning of our life, where ego has played a commanding role, and entering the afternoon (and evening) where meaning replaces ambition, we may encounter unexpected occurrences that accompany this new direction. Its almost universal law that we will experience a fall of some kind. Yet these falls or low points provide the energy we need to move away from ego and into a life of purpose.
The shift in consciousness doesn't mean that we lose our drive, it signifies that we become driven about something new. We make a commitment to living a life based on experiencing meaning and feeling purposeful, rather than never-ending demands and false promises that are trademark of the ego's agenda. - Dr Wayne Dyer
I really recommend this book, I recommend anything by him, go into a bookshop look at all his books and see what you a drawn to at this point in your life. Oh and just on that subject he also writes great children's books, very affirmative, when i brought my book the other day I convinced the shop into stocking them, they are the kind we all could all be reading to children to keep their spirits shining!! (if your interested in books for children check out Hay House Publishers)
The road of lost innocence is the true story of a Cambodian heroine who fled sexual slavery and now devotes her life to rescuing others, I really have only just started it but its already a great read.
Well its now 6.30am in Sydney the sun is shining and you can see its going to be a beautiful day, I love the smell of the air in the early hours of the morning. Enjoy your weekend, smile and remember "Everyday is a new beginning. Treat it that way. Stay away from what might have been, and look at what can be" - Marsha Petrie Sue

My friend the Quiet
Today its simple, to just be graceful & grateful.
I left my home and went for a walk along the cliff tops of where I live by the ocean. I took myself to a beautiful rock and sat in "Easy Pose" and started a sound Meditation. My mind at first wondered it kept wanting to think, worry, judge, thinking of the past the present, I kept with my meditation and then the stillness appeared.
My friend the quiet, the divine, the part of me that never ever leaves or goes anywhere, that place from where we came and where we will be returning too.
As I left I looked at the abundance of beauty around me, the vast ocean, the birds, the cliffs, the flowers (one which i picked and floats in water next to me now) colours, the sky, I realised Abundance is everywhere.
The most beautiful moment was the peace i felt and feel now as i write these words that place within which is always always there for us to access, that part of us that will never ever go anywhere its only ourselves that refuse its grace.
Find your true friend, take some time for you to connect to you, walk in nature then stop and breathe in the beauty, the wonder of yourself.

Oprah & George Michael
So as I'm sure all of Australia has heard Oprah is coming to Australia, she is bringing her American audience here to the opera house, so you either care, don't care or your like whatever!!
Well I'm actually a fan, yep i have said it out loud, OK not a fan as in having posters of Oprah all over my bedroom or Oprah shirts & tatoos but i do enjoy watching her show. I suppose i like to see the guests who come on the show and I enjoy the topics which she address's. I find her & the show inspirational.
So if i can get a ticket to the Opera house to see Oprah then yep i will be there for sure. I may even jump up and down on my couch when i find out i have tickets, and while I'm coming out I like Tom Cruise too!!!
We love to judge as a society we seem to be very quick to jump to conclusions about people before we know the facts, think of some of the people who you don't know who you do not personally speak too, people you have never had a conversation with and yet you could probably find so many reasons for judging that person because somebody told you something or you read something.
We need to come to our own conclusions with correct information, we need to remember when we judge others we must be open to being judged ourselves.
Which brings me to George Michael going to prison. Well i really cant judge now can I after my last paragraph but what i can tell you is the prison that he is in, is the one I taught at in the UK and it really is not nice, (not that prisons are supposed to be nice) but hey let me tell you they do not have some celebrity wing out the back with a spa that's for sure.
I remember walking through it, I didn't have too but i thought it would give me more of an idea of what the inmates are living in and coming from each morning when they came to my class. I remember that morning wondering what to wear to a men's prison, i didn't want some low cut top on and tight jeans the more anonymous i could be the better, (nuns outfit) however i think just the smell of my soap would of wafted through the corridors to awaken the Testosterone in that place.
Some of the guys were seriously out of it high on drugs to get them off drugs, cigarette butts where everywhere with the smell of Tobacco stuck to every brick in there. Cockroaches ran around and men just stared at me, it was one of the most strangest experiences i have ever encountered. The worst part for me was going past the sex offenders building they were all shouting out from their cells. I am glad i went ahead and did it as it gave me more of an insight into the guys who were in my class but I would never do it again. I remember the first class i sat in on, the teacher put on the Shawshank Redemption movie for the inmates to watch!!! He didn't think there were enough students to hold the class???
So George must be going through quite an experience right now.
May you all have a great weekend, remember to smile at someone you do not know and if the occasion arises where you find yourself about to go into judge mode take a breath and think do i really need to judge this person?

Cause and Effect
Good morning
I woke up early this morning feeling sick and in need of tea & toast, pregnancy does that strange thing to you of feeling sick & hungry at the same time. Any weight i have put on is not the baby its a culmination of Cereal & Toast, I gave up drinking to have a love affair with carbohydrates!!! Along with my other lover "Nutella"
I picked up a book last night and went off to bed and asked "Junior" that's my baby's nickname (no i don't know if i'm having a boy or a girl) to pick a random page, this is what i read:
The darkness was never a thing of itself, it was merely a confused state. The source of our supply was not really cut off, it stopped at our place of confusion and no longer functioned for us. This is a perfect statement of the mental law of cause and effect and it again warns us that we must be aware of the use we are making of the law, we must keep our thought straight.
It is not always easy to do this, but the law of cause and effect, being no respecter of persons and always working automatically and mechanically and with mathematical precision, must flow through each one of us in the terms of our own acceptance. When we become confused and short circuit this acceptance we are cutting ourselves off from its supply, but we do not destroy the supply, it is still there.
It is a wonderful thought to realize that the eternal bounty can be short-circuited only as far as we are concerned, it cannot be either exhausted or depleted. We shall never be disappointed for the law is always operating. - Ernest Holmes
What I love about this is it shows us how we use our own minds, its so easy to start on a negative streak and just keep going along that path thinking nothing is going to go our way, but this is not true and we know things do eventually turn around. I love to think that there and then in that moment its already whole, perfect, its just our way of viewing the situation.
Life is always going to throw us some challenging times but its how and what we do with it that matters. I have a friend at the moment who is facing a tough time with a terminally unwell relative, but her spirit and how she is dealing with it is beautiful in itself, what she is learning along the way is transforming her in new ways. She is delving deeper into herself and discovering new horizons within her that she did not know existed.
Please do not think for one minute I'm not seeing the pain, the heartache, i understand these only too well, but its that spirit that part of us within, that never leaves, that law that is always there, it may stop due to short circuiting but it will never go, and its that in itself which will help us continue and return with a big smile and a deeper spirit & understanding of ourselves.
Enjoy your day, take a deep breath and smile and let your spirit shine through to light up somebody elses day.

In the now
Sometimes we just have to go with the flow! Yes we have to plan and have goals in order to achieve things in the future but we must not always be thinking about the future for if we do that we are missing the whole point of being here now. I was teaching yoga tonight and a couple of the girls were in a very different head space to how they usually are, some would say it was my job to bring them back to the usual space that they are in within my class but this was not the case tonight. I believe a good teacher needs to adjust in order to be there for class with whatever is happening within their life there and then. I am fortunate that tonight's class is a small close group but the whole lesson ended up being extremely deep and very beautiful. These girls are extremely fit (great bums) and enjoy a good sweaty yoga session but tonight it was not meant to be and for me it was wonderful for its that moment when the soul is wanting to quiet down and just be, not in the future, not in the past, in the now.
When your feeling out of balance just take a few deep breaths, breathe in through the nose and out, when you breathe in let the stomach expand like a balloon and when you exhale let all the air flow out, do this a few times and you will notice the mind will start to quiet down.
What i find great about this is when you surrender and actually stop and be, if there are things you want to find out or bring into your future, now is the time to silently affirm in a positive manner exactly what it is you would like to bring about. The great thing is you can affirm it in that quiet state and then the mind just lets it go, it float's away and you do not have to think about it anymore, you just let the magic happen.

Welcome
I have been so excited about writing and having my own blog, you should of seen me last night and this morning trying to set this up anyone would think it was rocket science.
After a great lunch with a really close friend of mine yesterday who i adore she managed to get me all pumped about starting my blog, my writing career, she had just found about about a fantastic interview she had managed to get so by the end of lunch we were both feeling pretty good about ourselves. Its amazing what a bit of good girl company can do.
So there i was last night and this morning trying to get this all together and the funny thing is as soon as i was in a position to write i had no idea what to write. I did even mention that at lunch yesterday, what will i say? My friend replied you have so much to say!!!
So here i am and it feels pretty good, i have no idea how to find people to read this and what to do next but hey I'm gonna work it out!
My aim is to develop a site "Dear Becky" call me sad but i have always fancied myself as one of those people who the public write into with problems and whats going on in their life for some direction. I am a Kundalini yoga teacher, i have spent many years working in the holistic/spiritual side of things. I have done life coaching in a men's prison in the UK and taught self esteem classes to unemployed women as well as yoga at a drug and alcohol rehabilitation centre. I have also worked in Television reading Tarot cards - yep its true (what an experience that was!!) and also done television presenting and a dash of acting. These are the parts of my career that i have loved and brought me lots of enjoyment and a buckets of stories!!!
I am currently 21 weeks pregnant and starting a whole new journey, i am entering "Mums World" its exciting, scary, filled with hormones running all over the show.
So I'm going to write about lots of different subjects as they arise, please feel free to drop me a line, I really would love to hear from you!
