A movie I watched this week that I really enjoyed was "Dear John" written by Nicholas Sparks and the main character's are Amanda Seyfield and Channing Tatum (and I do have the hots for Channing Tatum now) its a heartwarming romance!!!
Basically they meet, fall in love, he goes to war they keep in touch by writing to each other, meanwhile life is spinning its circumstances at them testing their love. Girls watch it, boys you will relate to Channing's character, if not just watch how when he first kisses her he picks her up and they fall to the ground in the rain! Romance- Yep and us girls love that!!!
Two books I'm reading on the go at the moment are "The Shift" by Dr Wayne Dyer and " The road of lost Innocence" by Somaly Mam.
Wayne Dyer is without a shadow of a doubt one of my favourite authors, I have seen him speak on a few occasions and he even once told me I had a lovely smile.
I have followed his books for about 15 years and he would be one of the first authors that I related to when moving to a new way of thinking which in turn has changed my perceptions.
When I was working in London at Mind Body Spirit Direct (great shop) we stocked all his books and I had the chance to soak them all up. He did a movie recently called Ambition to Meaning, fantastic, Inspiring I remember going into work the next day and being able to sale lots of those DVDs my colleague and I were buzzing from what we had watched the night before. He always hits the right notes with me as he does thousands of others.
The Shift illustrates how and why to make the move from ambition to meaning. Such a shift eliminates our feelings of separateness, illuminates our spiritual connectedness, and involves moving from the ego-directed morning into the afternoon of life where everything is primarily influenced by purpose.
As we contemplate leaving the morning of our life, where ego has played a commanding role, and entering the afternoon (and evening) where meaning replaces ambition, we may encounter unexpected occurrences that accompany this new direction. Its almost universal law that we will experience a fall of some kind. Yet these falls or low points provide the energy we need to move away from ego and into a life of purpose.
The shift in consciousness doesn't mean that we lose our drive, it signifies that we become driven about something new. We make a commitment to living a life based on experiencing meaning and feeling purposeful, rather than never-ending demands and false promises that are trademark of the ego's agenda. - Dr Wayne Dyer
I really recommend this book, I recommend anything by him, go into a bookshop look at all his books and see what you a drawn to at this point in your life. Oh and just on that subject he also writes great children's books, very affirmative, when i brought my book the other day I convinced the shop into stocking them, they are the kind we all could all be reading to children to keep their spirits shining!! (if your interested in books for children check out Hay House Publishers)
The road of lost innocence is the true story of a Cambodian heroine who fled sexual slavery and now devotes her life to rescuing others, I really have only just started it but its already a great read.
Well its now 6.30am in Sydney the sun is shining and you can see its going to be a beautiful day, I love the smell of the air in the early hours of the morning. Enjoy your weekend, smile and remember "Everyday is a new beginning. Treat it that way. Stay away from what might have been, and look at what can be" - Marsha Petrie Sue
